Dear Parents,
This year we have decided that the homework in the Envisions Math Packet will be an optional assignment for your students. We will list each night’s math homework on the homework sheet so that you know what we covered. It is up to you and your child to decide what is best for him/her. We are going to be sending home a math choice board with small things your child can pick from each night. We will give you more information when it is sent home. Some other options you can choose for your child’s math practice each night are:
- Go on pearsonrealize.com and have your child play games, complete the assignment online, watch the video from the days lesson, etc.
- Play math games with your child (We will be sending home many ideas for this as the year goes on
- Help your child practice fluency facts (Adding and subtracting up to 20). You can use flash cards, play games online (multiplication.com is a great free resource), quiz them, etc.
- Find math in your world- Take a walk around the block, look around through the store and find all the math around you. Talk about it
- Let your child play with manipulatives (Pasta, cheerios, beans etc.) and work on math
- Practice using money to buy things in your house
The possibilities are endless! Please let us know if you have any questions and concerns.
Thank you!
